The Direct Sales Manager will be responsible for sales of products and services to municipal end-users and contractors for the Water Utility segment within the region(s) identified. Focus applications include wastewater transport (lift stations and transfer pumps at treatment plants), Storm water and drinking water intake, treatment, and distribution. Focus products are pumps, related services and accessories such as drives and controls. The primary objective is to achieve sales targets as defined in annual territory and account plans, and thereby achieve consistent sales growth in the assigned territory. Business will be conducted in accordance with Grundfos Values and work will be structured as laid out in the Grundfos Sales Excellence program. General Summary: The responsibility of the Technical Training Expert (TTE) is to support the Director of Technical Training in fulfilling the strategies, tactics, mission and goals of the Grundfos Technical Institute team. These activities include supporting sister companies in Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and any newly acquired companies. The TTE will maximize value throughout the Grundfos organization by assisting and supporting the efforts of the various Business Units. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the development of curriculum and instructional materials and of facilitation of technical classes for end users, installers, specifying engineers, OEM’s, distributors, representatives, and employees. 2. Promote a philosophy of learning and education, and approve intended learning outcomes. Assure that training materials and methodologies are aligned with the philosophy. 3. Contribute, support and promote a clear vision of the Grundfos Technical Institute within and without Grundfos. 4. Assist and contribute in creating a one to two year tactical plan for technical training. 5. Assure that all company policies and procedures are followed. 6. Maintain an awareness of other technical training programs, applicable to the pump, and parallel industries, as provided by other pump manufacturers and third party training providers. 7. Participate in the development and delivery of training programs that enhance participant’s ability to meet technical objectives and improve performance. 8. Assess training needs based on student feedback, sales and marketing analysis, and business objectives. 9. Develop and improve key process measures that track training outcomes. 10. Maintain active involvement in technical training programs sponsored by the Hydraulic Institute, ANSI and other professional organizations. 11. Mentor assigned subordinates to enhance their skills and competencies, emphasizing continuous improvement in their professional development for their respective roles. 12. Maintain responsibility for preparation of reports on student enrollment rates, class evaluation results, and pre-test and post-test scores. 13. Participate in the Employee Development Dialogue (EDD) process. 14. Four year degree required. Technical degree desired. The purpose of this position is to develop business through existing defined Grundfos markets and channels, engaging non-government organizations (NGO’s), specifically, electric utility entities. This role will support the mutually beneficial market transformation of standard low efficiency pumps and pumping systems to high efficiency products that Grundfos offers to our respective markets. The success within this role will be demonstrated by the number and quality of programs developed with targeted electric utilities, the associated sales of high efficiency Grundfos products and the complete engagement and development of respective sales channels in this process. Utility Engagement – Primary responsibility will be to identify and assess existing energy efficiency organization, infrastructure and programs, identify key personnel and key business objectives/drivers within the specific electric utility. Develop key relationships, aggressively working to develop mutually beneficial energy efficiency initiatives and programs utilizing Grundfos high efficiency pumps, pumping systems and that leverage our existing strength of distribution. Demonstrate Energy Efficiency Savings – through the utilization of relevant and appropriate product information and data, demonstrate desired energy savings for proposed initiatives and programs. Organize and efficiently execute relevant and appropriate pilots test programs as required. Sales Channel Engagement - as specific initiatives and programs are developed with targeted utilities, a primary responsibility of this position will be to communicate, train and engage the appropriate sales team(s) to realize effective optimization of the relevant and appropriate initiatives and programs.
